Daniel Todd Carter is extremely proud to announce the long lost debut CD / Album by SOLID SPACE entitled TRANSKAI. Official release date, March 13, 2020 to exactly coincide with the 5th anniversary of Daevid Allen's death, (R.I.P). For those who are not in the know, Daevid was a founding member of both The Soft Machine and GONG, and he was the ultimate anti-establishment hippie visionary. Daniel is again extremely proud to announce the first of three (3) official releases which showcase the very early years of his professional career as a recording artist. TRANSKAI features Daevid Allen as a very special guest on (1) track of this amazing long lost album recorded way back in 1993 / 94. SOLID SPACE was a band / project that Daniel co-founded with singer / songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Jay Tausig back when he was still living in the New York tri-state area as an all original project initially entitled Beyond which had its beginnings in 1993, and then officially becoming SOLID SPACE in June of 1994. For many, many reasons, (way to many to actually list here), this album was shelved for personal reasons. After over a decade of sitting in Daniel's personal archive this album was remastered by Daniel and Brent Moore of Cathammer Productions in Daniel's personal studio while living in Phoenix, AZ in 2006. However, after being remastered it once again went straight back into Daniel's personal archive for another dozen (12) years, and now after an astonishing quarter century (25) years, it will finally, finally see the light of day. In much more recent times it was decided by Daniel to not only remaster the music contained herein but to also completely revamp all of the original artwork and visual concept to bring it up to 21st century standards. It was again decided to wait until something very significant occurred around the making of this album. With the untimely death of Daevid Allen on March 13th, 2015, it was then that Daniel decided to release this incredible music and that after many years of silence, it should be finally revealed to the world once and for all to hear and see. Daniel Todd Carter is yet again extremely proud to announce another long lost CD / Album entitled
FIREFLOWER which was the 2nd follow up recording created by SOLID SPACE, which also continues to showcase the talent / ability and the very early years of (((~soundanimator~))) Daniel Todd Carter's professional career as a recording artist. FIREFLOWER was officially recorded in 1995 / 96 in New York City, NY very shortly after TRANSKAI was completed. This CD / Album was the final officially recorded output produced by SOLID SPACE and believe it or not, it to was shelved for many, many personal reasons. FIREFLOWER will finally see the light of day, again after lying dormant for many years in Daniel's personal archive. FIREFLOWER was also remastered by Daniel and Brent Moore of Cathammer Productions in Daniel's personal studio while living in Phoenix, AZ in 2006. It also was decided to completely revamp all of the artwork and visual concept of this CD/ Album as well and it completes a duo of CD / albums recorded by this now defunct group. This is yet another exciting and thought provoking look into the past of Daniel's very early raw psychedelic though adventurous journey through unpredictable improvisations in sound. Daniel Todd Carter is finally very pleased to announce yet another long lost E.P. CD / Album which is the debut recording by LORD HAVE MERCY entitled POSSESSION. To be finally and officially released after lying dormant as well in Daniel's personal archive for many years. LORD HAVE MERCY was Daniel's very first EVER professional band that he was a part of and it officially kicked off his career as a professional musician and artist. Way back in 1992, an original demo (cassette only) recording was made and officially released at live shows and only in the local Fairfield County, CT area in very limited quantities. However, yet once again, in 2003 / 04 the original band re-united at Daniel's Eclipse studio in Norwalk, CT to rehearse and re-arrange and prepare to re-record some of the old original key material and the updated new 6 song E.P. was recorded at SIDS Studio in Norwalk, CT in the autumn of 2003. Shortly thereafter, Daniel and his girlfriend split and moved out west to California, and the basic tracks were taken by the other members of the band and further expanded and refined to produce the final result exactly one (1) year later in the autumn of 2004. Produced, mixed and mastered by Dave Aaron and Roger Guimond, (R.I.P.) at Nest Egg recording studio. On March 8th, 2022, Daniel was cordially invited to do an online interview for a YouTube channel called The Hairy Man Show. Daniel was profiled where he spoke in depth about his career as a professional Multimedia-instrumentalist Producer Engineer and Fine Artist. He also spoke about his background as a Drummer and Synthesist (sound-world creator) and delved briefly into some of his past experiences and related some stories from his very interesting career so far. NEW YOUTUBE LIVE APPEARANCE:
On September 18th, 2023, Daniel was cordially invited to do a brief 25 minute LIVE set appearance for another YouTube channel out of Tucson, AZ called Outpost TV Tucson. This was Daniel's long overdue return to the live arena as it has been awhile since Daniel has performed live. The entire performance was captured and then mixed, edited and mastered by Electronic musician and producer Todd Fletcher and then some very cool and intense A.I. effects were added to create an awesome totally live and improvised performance that is going to used as a trailer for Daniel's upcoming performances in 2024 and 2025. PAST RELEASES AND KEY EVENTS:
2019: ((( ~ sound animator ~ ))) Daniel Todd Carter is pleased to present the formation of a brand new band / project called CLOUD SPACE which he describes as a forward thinking 21st century spiritually progressive future jazz project. Rehearsals have begun and all NEW original material is currently being composed for the project. CLOUD SPACE has already performed live in the metro Phoenix, AZ area. Plans are also being implemented to record a proper demo coming soon. Please stay tuned to this page for future updates and happenings regarding this most interesting new project.
2014: ((( ~ sound animator ~ ))) Daniel Todd Carter was very unexpectedly though pleasantly surprised as he was informed by Don Falcone who is the founder and leader of one of America's leading space rock bands / collective called Spirits Burning that he was to be included on a one of a kind promotional compilation CD / Album entitled, "No one cries in space." This very special compilation is a celebration of 15 years of original music that this collective has recorded and issued featuring some of the best musicians in the genre from some very legendary bands. Released in the U.K. only and included as a perk when ordering HAWKWIND DVD on the Gonzo Multimedia label. This retrospective compilation features Daniel on one track and also features past and current members of HAWKWIND / GONG / Blue Oyster Cult / Van Der Graaf / Acid Mothers Temple and Clearlight. Daniel was very honored to be included on this release. Unfortunately however, this compilation is no longer available and out of print.
2013: ((( ~ sound animator ~ ))) Daniel Todd Carter was invited by Spirits Burning leader Don Falcone to contribute to a track on a brand new full length CD / Album by Spirits Burning entitled, Spirits Burning & Clearlight, "Healthy music in large doses." Officially released on January 22nd, 2013 to exactly coincide with Daniel's 48th birthday. The CD / Album features past and current members of The Soft Machine / Clearlight / The Cure / Peter Gabriel / Mike Oldfield / Iggy Pop / Graham Bond / Arthur Brown & Manfred Mann's Earth band chapter 3. This CD / Album was officially released internationally worldwide on the Gonzo Multimedia label based out of the U.K. Daniel was once again, very honored to be a part of this excellent release. Also, in the same year, Daniel was invited once again as a session musician sideman drummer to be included on the self titled debut release by a project by the name of Weird Candy. Released on the independent label Stamper records based out of Phoenix, AZ. This is an interesting release for those who are into Progressive / Psychedelic / Indian Raga & Space Rock. 2011: ((( ~ sound animator ~ ))) Daniel Todd Carter officially purchases a new home just west of Phoenix, AZ in the desert and finally settles down after moving all around the west a lot over the last decade. After much thought and consideration on finding a good location, he finally begins the process of building a more permanent and stable platform for his new personal Multimedia recording studio. THE FREQUENCY LAB recording studio finally comes to life. And also, on December 10th of this year Daniel once again returns to the live stage as well as he organizes and produces his very first HIGH DESERT DREAMSCAPES show which occurred at the Solar Culture Art Gallery in Tucson, AZ and was recorded live and was very well received with even more new fans coming aboard and purchasing his CD's as well. A very busy though fulfilling time time.
2010: ((( ~ sound animator ~ ))) Daniel Todd Carter finally officially releases his third and final SOLO CD / Album in his series debut AWAKENING trilogy entitled FIREFLOWERS once again on his newly established independent Visionaryquest Multimedia label. Finally, after a few years of delays and unfortunate setbacks, Daniel has reached a plateau where he can confidently look back behind him. Yet, he can also look forward to a very bright future. After over a decade of conceiving . composing / recording / producing and manufacturing this personal momentous work, Daniel has finally brought his AWAKENING composing phase to a close. And, last but not least, Daniel was yet once again invited by Spirits Burning leader Don Falcone to contribute a couple of drum tracks once again as a session sideman for an album entitled, "Crazy Fluid" which was officially released on the now defunct Voiceprint label which was also based out of the U.K. Also, in November of this year, Daniel FINALLY returns to the live stage after more than a decade of silence of not performing live as he was officially invited to perform at Ambient Core 2010 at the Solar Culture Art Gallery in Tucson, AZ. His set was very well received and was also recorded and archived.
